Lattin's Apple Cider Mill aka "The Farm"

For some reason blogger is not letting add the words to where I want them.. so you can look at the pictures after you read what we did.
It was the perfect day to go to the farm! It wasn't too hot or too cold. The animals were all out and very noisy, that is what the video is showing you, how noisy they were (don't worry, it is only 7 seconds long). It made it a lot of fun to have the animals all out and noisy, though.
Some of the children really go into feeding the animals.. some not so much! :)
We got to feed the animals, pigs, goats, turkeys, chickens, ducks, & peacocks. We got to see the babies & the beautiful peacock feathers.
We got to sit at the picnic bench and have snack and then we played on the cars & horses. Before we got there I explained to the children that they could play on them, but we were not putting money in them. Everyone had a good time!

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom (Alphabet Scavenger Hunt Part 2)

Our alphabet scavenger hunt was a 2 part activity so we finished it up the second day and then read Chicka Chick Boom Boom, which is one of our favorite books. Hanging from the wall inside was a large coconut tree and the kids each got a turn to put several letters on the tree. They had to stretch reach the top. they hung some from the leaves, made others climbing the trunk and put others on the ground just like the story and the letters that were hidden in the backyard.

Music day

Music day was so much fun! I brought my keyboard and let them practice on it. I showed them how to gently play the keys and that it could make all different kinds of sounds.

We made guitars with rubber bands & old shoe boxes. We also made tambourines.

We had so many different kinds of instruments for them to play on. We let them play most of them at free play time. I brought the earphones for the keyboard. You can tell by one of the pictures that it did get a loud, but not too bad. They had fun playing the drums, xylophones, little guitar, their own guitars, & the keyboard.

At the 2nd circle time I got the bells & triangles out for them to play. I would let them play as loud as they wanted for a few seconds and then shouted stop & trade & then go, & then again. It was a lot of fun.

We also had a marching band outside with some of the instruments.

Alphabet scavenger hunt

What a fun day we had! Of course it always helps when it is sunny outside! We started off by reading some fun alphabet books. "The Letters are Lost" was one of them. We went outside then to find the lost letters. We had hid various letters in Marie's yard. Where the letter was "hid" then there was a plastic bag of peel & stick foamy letters. They then had to put it on a their paper to correspond with the letter. We broke this up into 2 different days, hiding 1/2 of the letters one day and the other 1/2 the next preschool day. (Sorry to say, I couldn't find the letter "F", that is why it was missing on all of the children's papers).

Since it was so nice outside we spent our free time outside, too. The children had fun on the swings & trampoline. We also had colored water & eye droppers for them to play with. Fun! Fun!

Dress- Up Fun

Just for fun, we did a whole day about dressing-up. During free time, instead of getting out most of the toys, we had tons of costumes to try on.

There were 3 knights in shining armor...

rescuing a damsel in distress.
A glamour girl...
and a butterfly ladybug.

A furry rabbit hopped on by.

Darth Vadar/Princess Leia played with a Southern Belle/Daniel Boone.
The Knight of the Rectangle Table guarded the castle...

and a tiger stalked his prey.

Green Eggs and Ham

We read Green Eggs and Ham this week.

And then we had to make some Green eggs to see if they liked them.
They each got to crack an egg and whip it

They were amazed that it took blue food coloring to make it green.

Yummy!

Doesn't look too appetizing..

but with a little extra cheese..

anything tastes good!

I then had a poster that asked them if they liked it or not, they came and put an x in the correct side and we compared if there more or less that liked it/didn't like it.

Everyone tried it & I think they were influenced by their friends votes, (Most of them seemed to like it at snack time).

The yes's won 7 to 5 (Marie & I voted, too & someone must of voted twice).
